Wind Studies

Accurately measuring the wind speed of your site is vital when assessing the feasibility and potential payback of any wind turbine. We offer a range of wind studies depending upon your local restrictions and/or desired wind turbine size. These wind study options include;

SODAR system

ICE Renewables are able to supply the advanced AQ500 wind study system. The AQ500 is made up of an extremely compact unit which measures the wind speed, direction and turbulence through a reflected acoustic pulse.

         Unlike a mast system the AQ500 does not require planning approval, as the unit itself is only 1.2m tall, it can therefore be installed quickly and with minimal fuss.  All that is required is a days work for installation and set-up and then you’re ready to go!
