Objective:

To submit a robust planning application to off-set the energy demand at New Holbeck Farm, promote the use of renewable energy and invest in the future and longevity of the farm.

Outcome:

A planning application for the installation of a 275kW medium scale wind turbine was submitted to Newark and Sherwood District Council in September 2010. Initial works had been carried out prior to this with ICE Renewables demonstrating that the development did not constitute an Environmental Impact Assessment. However ecology, visual and noise were undertaken to support the planning application.
An environment report was prepared which summarised studies completed including turbine location, noise, ecology, visual works and aviation considerations. The impact on these elements were considered acceptable and planning permission was granted in December 2010.
Upon successful completion of the planning works the client has since instructed ICE Renewables to undertake the design and civil works.

This wind turbine has now been delivered for an installation and commissioning before March 2011.
