Objective:

To design and install a Solar PV system upon the roof of Leeds University in accordance with Micro-generation Certificate Scheme (MCS) guidelines.

Outcome:

ICE Renewables designed and installed this Solar PV system in accordance with Micro Generation Scheme (MCS) guidelines, working with Freewatt. The client wished to receive the feed-in-tariff and so the system was designed and installed to be fully compliant with the MCS.

ICE Renewables were approached by Airedale Mechanical & Electrical to design and install the PV scheme. Airedale Mechanical & Electrical designed and installed a metal framing system which allowed the solar PV frame to be fitted at the correct angle on the existing flat roof of the building against the new slatted curtain walling system which had been installed around the roof top plant area. ICE Renewables installed the project in November 2009.

One of ICE Renewable’s strengths is its ability to work in partnership with other specialist companies to deliver the right solution for a client whilst ensuring regulations, quality and cost effectiveness are maintained.
