Works consisting from feasibility through to installation for a single 275kW Vergnet wind turbine at a farm in Lincolnshire
| Date: | June 2011 |
| Technology: | Medium Wind |
| Capacity: | 275kW |
| Scope of works: | Electrical, Civil Design, Installation and Operation and Maintenance |
Provide a renewable energy solution to offset the farms electricity demand, integrate the proposed wind turbine into the exising power distribution network and install the generator.
Outcome:
A comprehensive study was undertaken which determined the Vergent 275kW GEV MP R wind turbine would be most suitable for the farms usage. Planning permission was first applied for in March 2010, a second permission was submitted and approved in May 2011. ICE Renewables supported the farm as consultants throughout the planning process providing techincal details and support documents.
Alongside this ICE Renewables provided a comprehensive electrical and civil design package and upon the completion of these works the project immediately progressed into the installation phase.
The installation of the turbine is complete and is the first Vergnet GEV MP R turbine to be installed in the world.
“It is amazing to be milking cows and making cheese using the power of the wind. With the help of ICE Renewables and Vergnet we are able to use an abundant natural resource to generate our own electricity on the farm and that is hugely exciting.” Says Tim Jones, Director of F.W. Read and Sons
