ICE Renewables CEO, Julian Martin, attended the third meeting in a series of international meetings to revise the international standard for design and safety of wind turbines under the IEC series 61400. The revision will be published as Edition 4 of 61400-1 in 2014.
Julian is one of two representatives from the UK at these meetings and also act as convenor of its sub-committee on Medium Wind Turbines. The sub-committee are made up of many of the recognised global medium wind turbine manufacturers (Vergnet, Endurance, WES, Windflow, Norvento0) and are working on a special Annex to cover medium wind turbines in Edition 4. This work is being undertaken through Renewable UK’s facilitation.
ICE Renewables are now being seen on the international stage as leading the setting of new standards for medium wind turbines.
